Frohnmayer joins South Umpqua Bank board.


EUGENE, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 29, 1996--Dave Frohnmayer, president of the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities. , is the newest member of the South Umpqua Bank board of directors.

The Roseburg-based bank was founded in 1953 and recently expanded into Lane County. Frohnmayer is a former Oregon Attorney General The Oregon Attorney General is a statutory office within the executive branch of the state of Oregon, and serves as the chief legal officer of the state, heading its Department of Justice with its six operating divisions.  and served as dean of the University of Oregon Law School.

"South Umpqua's plans for growth are very innovative and, at the same time, very responsible," Frohnmayer said. "I like helping to build things of value and being involved in positive change."

Frohnmayer indicated he was impressed with the bank's operating philosophy.
