Presented in side-by-side German and English, this beautifully illustrated, oversized volume (9.75x12") contains 22 articles on the life and work of the German engineer and designer Leonhardt, who was based in Stuttgart. Models, designs, and finished projects are described and depicted in b&w plates of excellent quality. The articles describe Leonhardt's cable bridges, buildings, engineering with rubble construction, early prestressed concrete bridges, and pedestrian bridges. Other articles offer tributes to working with him, his professional network, and his work as professor and rector at the University of Stuttgart, among other topics. The volume concludes with a bibliography, a list of his writings, and a selection of his buildings and projects. The volume is not indexed. It is distributed in the US by National Book Network.
