Friesen will put jazz in the holidays.

Byline: Carolyn Lamberson The Register-Guard

When Sunday rolls around, Luna will come alive with the sound of holiday jazz.

Renowned bass player David Friesen will team with pianist Jeannie Hoffman, guitarist Jerry Hahn and drummer Gary Hobbs for a set of holiday favorites at the downtown jazz club A jazz club is a venue where the primary entertainment is live jazz. Friesen has along and distinguished history on the jazz scene. His career includes more than 60 recordings as a combo leader or co-leader, and more than 150 as a sideman side·man

Hahn and Friesen also have a 30-year connection. They met in Wichita, Kan., in 1973 and have played together several times over the years.
