Ferland does an admirable job characterizing males and females of varying ages. She both sings and recites religious passages from Jewish ceremonies with ease, although the focus of the story is not religious in nature. Highly recommended for young teens, especially females, although the material is highly instructive for all ages and sexes. Adults will find this surprisingly informative and a source of sensitive, yet often hidden, discussion matter. Sunnie Grant, Hampton, NH J--Recommended for junior high school students.
