Frez-N-Stor Purchases Headwater's SmartEnterprise 2 3PL Suite for Expanded Ops in Arkansas Poultry Belt.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. -- Frez-N-Stor, Inc., a public refrigerated warehouse company that has served the commercial poultry industry since 1960, has purchased Headwater Technology Solutions Inc.'s Delfour SmartEnterprise 2 third party logistics software suite and expects to complete implementation of the new software in January 2006, it was announced by MIS Director Barry Bridges and Headwater Senior Vice President Joe E. Couto.

Located at the epicenter of the Arkansas poultry industry, Frez-N-Stor operates a single facility with approximately 4,900,000 cubic feet of refrigerated warehouse space, of which 2,200,000 cubic feet was added in an expansion completed in January 2005. The facility features forced air circulation, a two-stage ammonia system, 31 truck doors, four railcar doors, 22 blast cells and fully palletized rack and bulk storage.

The SmartEnterprise 2 solution is an upgrade from an earlier Delfour 3PL solution that has been in place since 2002. It will provide greater system speed, more power and functionality, as well as improved ease of use through graphical user interface access and control. SmartEnterprise 2 will operate in conjunction with an Oracle database, both running on a Dell PowerEdge server under the Linux operating system. According to Bridges, the Linux-based solution is expected to increase cost-effectiveness and reduce total cost of ownership.

Frez-N-Stor's SmartEnterprise 2 solution is comprised of the Enterprise Foundation, an integration layer; the RF Foundation, and Versions 2.5 of the WarehouseLogic logistics management software, the Active Desktop GUI-based single point access/control module, the d'Amigo alert management and reporting tool, and the e-Vista web-based visibility tool, which enables customers to track movement and status of their inventory in real time. Frez-N-Stor also uses RF warehouse data communications as well as the EZConnect EDI-XML solution for computer-to-computer communications with trading partner EDI systems.

Couto noted that International Association of Refrigerated Warehouse reports confirm that Headwater's clients represent 7 out of the top 20 IARW member companies. These seven companies represent 47% market share of total refrigerated space in North America.
