French filmgoers prefer Hollywood.


Fifteen French and American American, river, 30 mi (48 km) long, rising in N central Calif. in the Sierra Nevada and flowing SW into the Sacramento River at Sacramento. Jurassic Park is a techno-thriller novel written by Michael Crichton that was published in 1990.
 was far and away the biggest U.S. hit in France.

So far for 1994, the Americans captured close to 60 per cent of the boxoffice, with the French getting 28 per cent and other countries 12 per cent.

The biggest 1994 hit was Madame Doubtfire, which so far has racked up 4,771,721 admissions, followed by Schindler's List (2,524,700 admissions, and Philadelphia, with 2,371,000). France's Casque Bleu has been the year's big local hit, with better than two million tickets sold. Queen Margotalso has been a big success.
