French facility casts liberty bell replica.


Fonderie Cornille-Havard, Normandy France, cast a near exact replica Earlier document exchange software from Farallon Communications, Inc. that converted a Windows or Mac document into a proprietary viewing format. The viewer could be distributed separately or embedded within the document itself, turning it into a single-document viewer.  of the Liberty Bell.

The 2,077-lb. casting was made with the same copper and tin alchemy alchemy (ăl`kəmē), ancient art of obscure origin that sought to transform base metals (e.g., lead) into silver and gold; forerunner of the science of chemistry.  as the original bell. It currently sits adjacent to the Abbey of the Women (l'Abbaye aux Dames), but could be moved to the American military cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer.
