Freescale executives and technical experts will participate in several panels and presentations, including the CEO Roundtable. The company will have more than 20 hands-on demonstrations at its booth (Hall A6, Booth 107) highlighting microcontroller, analog, sensor and RF solutions.

Executive presence

Freescale executives presenting at electronica 2006 will provide their insights into emerging trends in the electronics and automotive industries.

Michel Mayer, chairman and CEO of Freescale, will participate in the CEO Roundtable on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Hall A2. The theme is "Driving Forces for Innovations in the Electronic Industry."

Paul Grimme, senior vice president and general manager of Freescale's Transportation and Standard Products Group, will speak at the electronica Automotive Conference at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13 in the International Congress Centre. His theme is "On the Road to Autonomous Safety."

Technical presentations

Freescale experts will give in-depth technical presentations on a variety of topics ranging from embedded networking to MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical Systems) Tiny mechanical devices that are built onto semiconductor chips and are measured in micrometers. In the research labs since the 1980s, MEMS devices began to materialize as commercial products in the mid-1990s. .

More than 20 engaging and informative demonstrations showcasing a variety of Freescale products, technologies and applications will be on display in Freescale's booth. Selected demos include:

Proximity sensing solution: Freescale's non-contact proximity sensors provide cost-effective solutions for automotive electronics and industrial control manufacturers who are designing systems that detect objects without direct contact. The technology is ideal for liquid detection, intelligent airbag systems and human machine interface (HMI) dashboards.

Point-of-sale reference design: Develop a human-machine interface for industrial applications based on Freescale's 32-bit ColdFire[TM] embedded processor and 8-bit microcontrollers. The point-of-sale system runs the [acute accent]CLinux[TM] OS and NanoX open-source graphical display software.
