FreeWave Technologies Announces 1.3GHz Military Frequency Radio.

BOULDER, Colo. -- FreeWave Technologies FreeWave Technologies, Inc. is a B2B company based in Boulder, Colorado where it manufactures and designs frequency hopping, spread spectrum radios. Wireless data solutions are utilized in industrial, scientific, military, and commercial applications. The U.S. , a designer and manufacturer of premium quality spread spectrum radios and wireless solutions for industrial, scientific, military and commercial applications, today announced the availability of a 1.3GHz radio, designed to meet the rigorous demands of military users worldwide.

FreeWave's 1.3GHz system transmits on a frequency range of 1.350GHz to 1.390 GHz. The spreading method can be configured as either frequency hopping A wireless modulation method that rapidly changes the center frequency of a transmission. See spread spectrum and 802.11.  or fixed frequency. This technology features 32-bit CRC (Cyclical Redundancy Checking) An error checking technique used to ensure the accuracy of transmitting digital data. The transmitted messages are divided into predetermined lengths which, used as dividends, are divided by a fixed divisor.  error detection with automatic retransmission Retransmission might refer to:
  • Retransmission (data networks), the resending of packets which have been damaged or lost
  • Replication of a signal at a repeater
, while ensuring that all information is transmitted flawlessly. The radio's miniature size is ideal and versatile for many applications. The physical dimensions are 2.86"L x 2.44"W x 0.59"H.

Information transmitted by government and military users is highly sensitive Adj. 1. highly sensitive - readily affected by various agents; "a highly sensitive explosive is easily exploded by a shock"; "a sensitive colloid is readily coagulated"  in nature and performance and security are of critical importance. FreeWave's 1.3GHz radio features superior noise immunity performance that can withstand most types of mission critical environments. Additionally, the highly advanced proprietary spread spectrum technology offers an innovative level of network security, thereby preventing most types of unauthorized access.

"We are excited to offer our military customers another frequency solution for their wireless transmission needs," says Colin Lippincott, vice president of sales and marketing for FreeWave. "The 1.3GHz radio is an ideal alternative for military customers who have experienced voice interference at lower frequency levels."

Please contact Jeff Allen at FreeWave for more information on the 1.3 GHz radios. He can be reached at 303-381-9226 (O), 720-530-2745 (C) or at jallen@freewave.com.
