Free seminars to be offered at new Co-op Expo.

The New York Association of Realty Managers announced this year's seminar series to be offered at the organization's Real Estate Expo in September. All of the courses are eligible for NYARM certification credit, and CEU approval is pending from the State of New York. Entry to the Expo and any of the seminars is free.

NYARM will host this year's Expo at the Hotel Pennsylvania, conveniently located across the street from Penn Station, at Seventh Avenue and 33rd Street. Now under new management, and with an impressive array of free continuing education courses, this year's show is expected to draw more attendees than ever.

The four seminars offered cover a variety of aspects of real estate management and maintenance, and feature an impressive array of professionals as both moderators and panelists. Course offerings include a Legal Roundtable at 8:00 a.m., moderated by Steve Elbaz, president of Esquire Management, during which attendees will receive legal advice on a variety of issues. An 11:00 a.m. seminar on Management-Board Relations, moderated by NYARM president Rochelle Captan, will focus on how managers can interact with co-op and condo board members to achieve optimal results. At 2:00 p.m., Greg Carlson, executive director of the Federation of New York Housing Cooperatives, will moderate a seminar on Building Codes and Local Laws, which will help managers and superintendents stay abreast of current laws and avoid problems with compliance. The final seminar of the day, at 4:30 p.m., will focus on Controlling Energy Costs in multi-family dwellings and will feature a speaker from the Energy Business Association of New York State.
