Free ReachOut Software lets California flood victims work from home.

Headquartered in Carlsbad, California, the company developed interesting hardware and software technology, but struggled financially, until the release of Stacker disk compression software in  is providing ReachOut Remote Control 4.0, its multi award-winning remote control software package, free to those computer users affected by the floods.

ReachOut allows one PC to control another PC using modems, so people with laptops or home computers can stay at home and still work on their office computer or even on their company's network -- thereby avoiding danger from the flood water or traffic backups.

ReachOut is available for IBM PC A PC made by IBM. IBM created the PC industry in 1981 when it introduced its first model with 16KB of RAM. However, it was way off in its estimates, projecting that 250,000 units would be sold in the first five years. In fact, about three million IBM PCs were sold in that period.  and compatible computers and normally retails for $199. This free offer lasts until Jan. 31, 1995 while limited supplies last. Stac Electronics will pay shipping costs.
