Frederick Harris Music celebrates 100th anniversary.This year marks the centennial of Frederick Frederick, city, United StatesFrederick, city (1990 pop. 40,148), seat of Frederick co., NW Md.; settled 1745, inc. 1817. The processing center of a fertile farm and dairying area, it makes beer, household items, optical and glass products, leather goods, clothing, and electronic equipment. The largest employer, however, is Fort Detrick, a U.S. Army medical research center. Harris Music Co., Limited, one of the oldest educational print music publishers in North America.Frederick Harris Music offers more than 450 publications in its catalog, including its newest series Celebrate Piano. Frederick Harris (1866-1945) devoted his life to music publishing, beginning his career in England working for a large music publishing firm. In 1904, he started his own business in London and in 1910, established a Canadian office in Toronto.
