General Counsel and Director of Tax Affairs, has joined the Tax Division of the Department of Justice as Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Policy and Planning. In his new role, Mr. Murray assists Eileen J. O'Connor, Assistant Attorney General for the Tax Division, with technical, strategic, and management issues arising in the 500-plus person Justice Department Division that handles or supervises all federal tax litigation An action brought in court to enforce a particular right. Mr. Murray's responsibilities include developing litigation strategies; determining optimum allocation of personnel and budgetary resources; supervising the Division's ethics ethics, in philosophy, the study and evaluation of human conduct in the light of moral principles. Moral principles may be viewed either as the standard of conduct that individuals have constructed for themselves or as the body of obligations and duties that a , personnel recruitment, training, and management programs; and overseeing its information technology, litigation support, and other administrative programs. Before joining TEI's staff in 2002, Mr. Murray worked for the National Foreign Trade Council and the Internal Revenue Service. |
