Frankenmuth scores gold medal in Great American Beer Festival

Frankenmuth Brewery, Inc. announced that its Frankenmuth Old German Style Dark beer was voted "America's Best Dark Beer" with the presentation of the gold medal by the Great American Beer Festival's Tasting Panel.

Frankenmuth's Old German Style Bock beer was also awarded a silver medal in its category.

Earlier in October, the brewery's Old German Style Pilsener, Natural Weisse and Bock beersfinished highest in their respective categories and all four were in the top 10 evaluated at the third annual Great Taste of the Midwest.

"We are indeed proud as Michigan's only specialty brewer to be producing some of the finest beers available in the country, right here in Michigan," said Ferdinand Schumacher, president, Frankenmuth Brewery. "It is obvious from these independent results that tasting experts and consumers find Frankemuth's beers to be some of the finest beers in the United States."

Fred Scheer, brewmaster, Frankenmuth Brewery, added that it was a great feeling to see all of their hard work and push for excellence has paid off.
