HILTON Hotels Corp. jumped to No. 1 from No. 2 in the list of top franchisers in L.A. County for 2001. Total units this year were 1,986, compared with 1,903 reported on last year's list. More growth is underway. "We have a pipeline of 400 hotels in our system, approved or under construction, and those hotels represent $5 billion in new hotel development," Fortier said.
