France Telecom and the Bonton Group Partner for a GSM License in the Czech Republic.


PRAGUE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 12, 1999--

August 12,1999--France Telecom and the Bonton Group, a major Czech media company, signed a partnership agreement on August 11th to compete for the third GSM license (900/1800) in the Czech Republic Czech Republic, Czech Česká Republika (2005 est. pop. 10,241,000), republic, 29,677 sq mi (78,864 sq km), central Europe. It is bordered by Slovakia on the east, Austria on the south, Germany on the west, and Poland on the north. .

The Ministry of Transportation and Communication issued the tender on July 21st. It will be terminated by August 17th and the winning operator should be selected by September 30th 1999 at the latest.
