The filters meet the needs of a growing number of companies that are augmenting their traditional word processing and page layout programs by adopting the FrameMaker "all-in-one solution."

Frame's award-winning FrameMaker 4 software combines sophisticated tools for writing, layout, and electronic or hard-copy publishing of documents across Windows, Macintosh and UNIX UNIX

platforms. As an integral part of its open document publishing solutions, Frame provides a complete set of filters for all major word processing and page layout programs.

In addition to support for Microsoft Word 6.0 and WordPerfect 6.0, FrameMaker for Windows users can import text and graphics files from AmiPro, Ventura Publisher, DisplayWrite and CorelDraw.

FrameMaker also reads CGM (1) (Computer Graphics Metafile) An ISO/IEC standard format for 2D graphics images introduced in 1987. Primarily a vector graphics format for technical illustrations and geophysical visualizations, CGM also supports raster graphics and text. , EPSF (Encapsulated PostScript File) The full name of an EPS file. Frame offers a different set of filters for FrameMaker 4 on Macintosh and UNIX platforms, which allow users of these platforms to also import and export leading file formats along with word processing and page layout program files.

"Frame is dedicated to providing a smooth, easy file transition to FrameMaker, one that protects a company's investment in existing software and documents," said Martin Doettling, Frame's director of product marketing.

"FrameMaker's open architecture and wide variety of filters make it easy for companies to get valuable information into and out of FrameMaker. And its companion product, FrameViewer, enables easy electronic distribution and viewing of FrameMaker documents.

"As more and more companies recognize the distinct productivity gains FrameMaker offers, they are choosing to standardize on it. For creating and maintaining long, text-intensive `living' documents, no combination of word processing and page layout software can beat FrameMaker's all-in-one capabilities."
