Foxconn is one of the largest manufacturers of electronics and computer components worldwide, and mainly manufactures on filed more patent applications than any other business in Taiwan in 2005. Foxconn (foxconn.com), which also goes under the name Hon Hon abbr (= honourable, honorary) → en tÃtulos Hai Precision Industries, filed for 1,886 patents, nearly 1,000 more than runner-up Industrial Technology Research Institute (itri.org.tw). The EMS company received approval for 1,018 patents last year. It was the fourth consecutive year Foxconn was the top filer. Among companies headquartered abroad, Philips Electronics (philips.com) filed for the most patents in Taiwan, with 882 applications.
