Fox Soccer Channel Renews Live and Exclusive English-Language Telecast Rights to UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup Through 2009.

LOS ANGELES -- Fox Soccer Channel Fox Soccer Channel is a United States digital cable network, owned by News Corporation, that specializes in soccer. The channel took its current name on February 7, 2005; before then, the network was known as Fox Sports World, Launched Nov. 1, 1997.  today announced it has renewed live and exclusive English-language telecast rights to the deciding rounds of the UEFA UEFA Union of European Football Associations

 Cup and the UEFA Super Cup The European Super Cup (UEFA Super Cup) is at stake in an annual football game between the reigning champions of the UEFA Cup and the Champions League. It takes place at the start of the domestic season, in August, and it is generally regarded as a minor event, with the  through the 2008/2009 season. Live and exclusive Spanish-language coverage will be provided by sister network Fox Sports en EspaSol.

The networks' exclusive UEFA Cup coverage will include six quarterfinal matches, with the home and away legs taking place on Thursday, April 5 and Thursday, April 12, respectively; four semifinal matches (home leg: April 26, away leg: May 3); and the UEFA Cup Final on Wednesday, May 16from Glasgow, Scotland. The UEFA Super Cup, taking place at Monaco's Stade Louis II The Stade Louis II is a stadium located in the Fontvieille district of Monaco. It serves as a venue for both football, being the home of AS Monaco as well as the location of the annual UEFA Super Cup match, and athletics, where it plays host to the IAAF World Athletics Final , will air on Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Sports en EspaSol in August of 2007. A complete telecast schedule will be announced at a later date.

The UEFA Cup is Europe's largest annual soccer competition, where more than 150 clubs from across the continent compete for a chance to raise one of European football's most historic trophies. Since the tournament's inception in 1971, Italy's Juventus and Inter Milan, as well as England's Liverpool, have claimed the UEFA Cup title three times each. The UEFA Super Cup, known as the curtain raiser for the new UEFA club competition season, will feature the previous year's UEFA Champions League winner taking on the UEFA Cup winner. Italy's AC Milan has won the UEFA Super Cup a record four times.
