Fox Soccer Channel Becomes an Official Nielsen Rated Network Starting October 1.

LOS ANGELES -- Fox Soccer Channel, the premier television destination in the United States for soccer fans, will become Nielsen rated as of October 1, 2008.

The network reaches over 33 million cable and satellite subscribers in the U.S. and Caribbean, with more households than any other soccer-specific cable broadcaster, and has distribution agreements in place with the top 10 cable Multiple System Operators (MSOs) in the U.S., as well as DirecTV, Dish Network, AT&T U-Verse and Verizon FiOS.

With an average household income of $75,000 among all viewers - and 57% of its audience in the male 18-34 demographic(a) - Fox Soccer Channel intends to position itself as the primary cable television destination for advertisers looking to reach a passionate, loyal audience of core soccer fans.

"Over the last five years Fox Soccer Channel has shown tremendous growth, in terms of both viewer engagement and advertiser interest," said David Sternberg, executive vice president and general manager of Fox Soccer Channel. "Entering the Nielsen family enables us to validate our viewership reach, demonstrating to advertisers our ability to deliver the extremely strong and dedicated audience of men 18-34 that they want to reach as well as the broad based audience attracted to soccer programming."

"Our goal will be to add to the top tier brands, such as Verizon Wireless, Diageo and Corona, that already understand the value of Fox Soccer Channel," said Mike Petruzzi, vice president of Ad Sales for Fox Soccer Channel.

New sponsors on the channel include Levi's, Acura and Dick's Sporting Goods.
