Deportivo Saprissa's break came when goalkeeper Jose Francisco Porras saved the shot by CF Monterrey's Walter Erviti, giving Deportivo a one goal advantage. It was Ronald Gomez, who converted his second penalty kick of the day, clinching the victory for Deportivo Saprissa.
