Four get awards for Distinguished Service.FEI FEI Fédération Équestre Internationale. has presented four members with the association's 2005 Distinguished Service Award. This award, presented at the Summit in May, honors members who have made significant contributions to the organization. It was presented to Richard Asta of Orlando, David Cavallo of Chicago, Lawrence Piano of Fort Wayne Fort Wayne, city (1990 pop. 173,072), seat of Allen co., NE Ind., where the St. Joseph and St. Marys rivers join to form the Maumee River; inc. 1840. It is the second largest city in the state, a major railroad and shipping point, a wholesale and distribution hub, and Richard Rosebery of Dallas. Commenting on the awards, Colleen Cunningham, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. of FEI, said, "On behalf of senior financial officers throughout the country, I want to thank these four professionals for serving as role models for other members of FEI. They have committed significant time and effort in furthering the high professional standards of FEI and strengthening our association at the national and local levels." Richard Asta, Chief Executive Officer, Dixon Ticonderoga The Dixon Ticonderoga is a pencil model distributed by the Dixon Ticonderoga Company, which was originally located in downtown Jersey City, New Jersey. While their products are akin to those of similar companies, because of the company's 19th century origins and large size this Company, received the award for his commitment and contributions to the Central Florida Chapter in Orlando, where he has been a member for more than a decade. He has served in every Chapter position and has been extremely influential in the Chapter's sponsorship program, attracting 30 sponsors in just two years. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] Prior to moving to Orlando, he was on the board of the Chicago chapter of FEI for five years. Asta has also been active on a national level in various leadership roles. David Cavallo, Assistant Controller at USG (UNIX Systems Group) The division within Novell that was responsible for UnixWare. See USL. Corp., was selected for his exceptional leadership in the Chicago Chapter and at the national level. He has served in the positions of President and Vice President and has also taken on many committee positions. Under Cavallo's leadership, the Chicago Chapter grew to be the second largest chapter in the country, increasing membership from 600 to 750. He has been also been active nationally, serving in various leadership roles. Lawrence Piano, CFO See Chief Financial Officer. of CVC See CSC. Communications, was recognized for his leadership. He has been a member of the Fort Wayne chapter of FEI for 24 years, serving as President for three years during that time. He was instrumental in increasing the chapter's membership by 40 percent, which led to Fort Wayne receiving the National Small Chapter Membership Recruiting Award. In addition, Piano has held several national-level board positions with FEI and with the Financial Executives Research Foundation (FERF FERF Financial Executives Research Foundation FERF Far End Reporting Failure FERF Far End Receive Failure ). Richard Rosebery, formerly Vice Chairman, CFO and CAO of Elkcorp, was honored for his role in the success of the Dallas Chapter, as well as the national organization. He arranged focus group meetings targeting Fortune 1000 senior executives in Dallas to address issues impacting senior financial officers, and has long authored a column inthe local chapter's monthly chapter newsletter promoting involvement in national activities. FEI has been presenting Distinguished Service awards since 1991. |
