Four die in Karak road mishap.

KARAK, Aug. 13 -- Four people died while three others injured in a road mishap here Thursday.

The accident took place at Shaheedan Mor on Indus highway In 1988, the Government of Pakistan announced the construction of the Indus Highway (N55) of total length 1,250 km (777 miles), designated to provide a shorter alternative to the existing N-5 National Highway of 1,650 km (1,025 miles) linking Karachi with Peshawar via Lahore.  in the jurisdiction of Karak police station between a Carry van and a Shahzor truck coming from the opposite direction.

The van was bound for Karak from Kohat while the Shahzor truck carrying cattle coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with each other at Shaheedan Mor resultantly four persons died on the spot while three others suffered serious injuries.

The local people and the passengers of other vehicles started rescue operations and pulled out the bodies of the dead and the injured from the wreckage of the truck and van.

 Hospital Karak while one of the injured was shifted to Kohat for treatment.
