Four Major Projects Launched in Qinghai Oilfield.

The 4 major projects of crude oil capacity expansion, propylene oxide unit construction, natural gas market development and optical fiber channel from Mangya to Dunhuang to be implemented in Qinghai Oilfield in 1999 have recently been launched.

The crude oil capacity expansion project is the largest of the similar projects constructed in the recent years. It is directly related to the attainment of the crude oil production target of 2.4 million tons in Qinghai Oilfield in the next century. The project will be implemented in several tracts such as Dushikule Oilfield, Yuejin Oilfield and Shizigou Oilfield. The propylene oxide unit construction project has been approved by the state. It will be jointly funded by Qinghai Oilfield, Empolyees' Shareholding Board and Qinghai Holding Investment Co. The project can help increase product varieties and concentrate on core production sectors. The natural gas market development project is the key to large-scale natural gas development in the Qaidam Basin. The focus will be on the transformation of resource advantages into economic advantages in Germu, Dunhuang and surrounding areas. The project of optical fiber channel from Mangya to Dunhuang is an infrastructure project of Qinghua Oilfield. It will be complete d and put into use before Oct. 1 this year. At that time the 3 oil bases of Germu, Huatugou and Dunhuang in Qinghai Oilfield will be connected by the optical fiber. The ability of modem information network construction and information acquisition and application will be further enhanced.
