Four Jazz Stations Rank in the Top 25 of the May Arbitron Webcast Ratings.

: ARB) today announced that four Jazz stations - Jazz FM Jazz FM may refer to:
  • 90.7 Arrow Jazz FM, a defunct radio station based in Amsterdam
  • 102.2 Jazz FM, a defunct radio station based in London
  • 100.4 Jazz FM, a defunct radio station based in Manchester
  • 105.
 UK, KPLU- Jazz, and KKSF-FM - were ranked within the top 25 webcast channels in the May Arbitron Webcast Ratings(SM).

Jazz FM UK was ranked number two with 927,800 aggregate tuning hours (ATH), the sum total of all hours that listeners tune to a given station. KPLU-Jazz was ranked number five with 413,500 ATH; new to the rankings,, was ranked number 18 with 168,300 ATH and KKSF-FM ranked number 21 with 156,700 ATH.

Virgin Radio maintained its top channel ratings spot with 1,321,500 ATH. WQXR-FM WQXR-FM is an FM radio station licensed to New York City. It broadcasts on 96.3 MHz from the top of the Empire State Building, and is the most listened-to classical music station in the United States, with an average quarter-hour audience of 63,000.  ranked number three with 819,400 ATH. Also new to the webcast ratings, Radioio radioIO (read as "radio i/o") is one of the worlds largest Internet radio services. It was started in 1999 by Michael R. Roe, known to listeners as the "radioioGuy". In November of 2005, it became the world's first publicly traded internet radio operation through a reverse merger  was ranked at number 10 with 260,800 ATH.

Network Ratings

Maintaining its top spot in the network ratings, Live365 was ranked number one with 8,420,800 ATH. Clear Channel Worldwide ranked number two with 7,582,500 ATH and ChainCast/StreamAudio ranked number three with 2,605,100 ATH. Webcast networks are defined as radio station owners that stream their content online or companies that aggregate online audio programming. Webcast networks are ranked according to according to

Background and Methodology

The rankings included in the May 2002 Arbitron Webcast Ratings(SM) are based on those stations and channels that have provided Arbitron with access to their server data. The ratings may not reflect all tuning for the measured stations or channels, since Arbitron may have received incomplete or unusable server data.
