Four Baker & McKenzie Lawyers Join PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Four prominent tax partners from the law firm of Baker & McKenzie will be joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, the world's leading professional services organization. The new PricewaterhouseCoopers partners, Joseph L. Andrus, Nicholas J. DeNovio, Robert H. Dilworth, and L.G. "Chip" Harter, all specialize in the international taxation of multinational corporations.

Mr. Andrus served in the Office of International Tax Counsel of the U.S. Treasury Department in various capacities, including Deputy International Tax Counsel from 1984-1987. He has represented clients in major cross-border tax controversies at all levels of the IRS, including audit, appeals, competent authority, and in Tax Court. At PricewaterhouseCoopers, he will assist clients with international structuring and cross-border tax controversies. He will relocate from Washington, D.C. to the firm's Boston office, which has 400 people in its Tax and Legal Services practice.

Mr. DeNovio has practiced law in Miami since 1990. As a tax partner in the Miami office of PricewaterhouseCoopers, he will serve a broad cross section of major consumer and industrial companies based in Florida. The firm's Miami office has 150 people in its Tax and Legal Services practice.

Mr. Dilworth specializes in foreign trade and tax matters. His practice has concentrated on structuring foreign operations and transactions of multinational corporations, with particular emphasis on debt and equity financing, the management of interest rate and currency risk and the preservation and utilization of the foreign tax credit. He has participated in a number of management roles, and has also participated in the initial establishment of a number of offices and practices in Baker & McKenzie. He will assume a leadership role for the international tax practice of the Washington National Tax Services (WNTS) of PricewaterhouseCoopers. The WNTS office has 650 people in its Tax and Legal Services practice.

Mr. Harter is a leading authority on the taxation of cross-border financial transactions and products. He is Chair of the American Bar Association Taxation Subcommittee on Notional Principal Contracts. He will continue his focus on financial products and transactions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and will lead the WNTS practice in that area.
