The 16-foot Bloxwich Fountain, which was paid for by public subscription and cost pounds 170 in 1891, has been taken from its home in Promenade promenade Public place where people walk (or, in the past, rode) at leisure for pleasure, exercise, or display. Promenades are pedestrian avenues pleasingly landscaped or commanding a view, often located along waterfronts and in parks. Vehicular traffic may or may not be restricted. Gardens for restoration. The project is being funded through cash from the Ibstock corey Environmental Trust and Section 106 funding. The fountain will be re-cast and given a fresh coat of paint. Its existing paint will be analysed to accurately determine its original colour. It is presently black and gold, but some residents recall seeing it painted blue and gold. Chairman of the Friends of Bloxwich Parks, Ken Worley, said: "The people of Bloxwich are justifiably jus·ti·fi·a·ble adj. Having sufficient grounds for justification; possible to justify: justifiable resentment. jus proud of the fountain. "It should be well looked after." |
