Foundry not expecting to hit another perfect TEN against Nortel.

ALBERT FOUNDRY chairman Robert Young is expecting no repeat of his team's epic 10-0 thrashing of Nortel when the two teams gather for their second league meeting this Saturday.

The 2006/07 Premier Section winners set down an early marker of their intentions with the memorable opening day victory, but Young is in the game too long to expect such an easy ride this time around.

Erring on the side of caution, Young stressed: "Since we beat them that day, they've come on leaps and bounds.

"There haven't really been any other big scorelines - they have just been losing by the odd goal.

"Besides, they had a weakened side out that day, and were short of a few of their main players.

"It tells you something that one of our second team players got a hat-trick that day. But they'll be out for revenge, and we will have to be careful."

The game will be particularly interesting following Foundry's shock penalty shootout defeat in the Border Cup at the hands of Ards Rangers at the weekend.

It was a rare blip for a side tipped to be among this season's title challengers, and no doubt Foundry boss Steven Johnston will have his side pumped up to make amends for the loss.

Young, who chose not to watch the spot kicks, said: "They were up for it, they probably deserved the draw over the 90 minutes, and from what I heard they took their penalties well.

"But now we have to focus on the league. Don't forget, the last time we were put out of the Border Cup early, we ended up winning the league!"

Foundry will have their fingers crossed that Saturday will see the return of Glen McCourt and Paul Young, who both missed the Ards Rangers game due to injury.
