:FDRY), a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching and routing, and Wide Area Network Design Lab, WANDL WANDL Wide Area Network Design Laboratory , Inc., the leading supplier of high-end network design, planning, and management tools, announced today that WANDL's MPLSView and MPLS Traffic Engineering Tools have now been extended to include Foundry's NetIron(R) Internet router product family.

MPLS Traffic Engineering offers service providers an effective tool to combat network congestion while optimally utilizing network resources. It also provides the ability to allocate resources based on traffic classification to achieve different levels of quality of services.

WANDL's MPLSView provides network managers with a powerful solution that contains in-depth graphical views of IP/MPLS IP/MPLS Internet Protocol/Multi-Protocol Label Switching  routers, LSP LSP - Label Switched Path  tunnels configurations, tunnel path, state, and traffic. MPLSView can extract MPLS/TE data from a live network, perform detail analysis and suggest necessary adjustment to the network to deal with network failure as well as unexpected congestion The condition of a network when there is not enough bandwidth to support the current traffic load.

congestion - When the offered load of a data communication path exceeds the capacity.
. When operating in the off-line planning mode, it allows network managers to design LSP tunnel placements based on network-wide resource considerations, and to generate configuration changes that can be applied directly to IP/MPLS routers to minimize manual configuration errors. Furthermore, network managers can use MPLSView to answer many what-if questions on network outages such as fiber cuts and to assess the impact of network growth or re-alignment. The tool is capable of handling multi-layer modeling, traffic load analysis, and delay estimations.

Foundry's NetIron 1500, NetIron 800, and NetIron 400 family of Internet routers supports the full range of MPLS Traffic Engineering functionality, including constraint-based dynamic routing and rerouting of label-switched path (LSP), explicit routing, secondary and hot-standby LSP protection, LSP preemption, resource management, and admission control. With the extension of MPLSView supporting the NetIron Internet routers, Foundry's MPLS-TE features are complemented by WANDL MPLSView's network-wide monitoring, planning, and configuration capabilities.

Key features of WANDL's MPLSView and MPLS Traffic Engineering Tools include:
-- Near real time configuration/topology/MPLS TE Tunnels/traffic data
collection, parsing, topology Viewing and monitoring

-- Integrity Checking

-- What-if routing and path analysis

-- CoS, CBWFQ model

-- MPLS TE with DiffSrv model

-- BGP model

-- VoIP model

-- Network optimization
