Foundry Networks Expands Executive Management Team With New Vice President of Service Provider Sales; New Executive Position Added to Focus on Strategic Service Provider Market.

Foundry Networks(R), Inc. (Nasdaq:FDRY), a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching and routing, today announced the appointment of Craig Baily as vice president of service provider sales. Baily will manage all aspects of Foundry's sales and field operations focusing on the service provider and carrier markets.

With over 15 years of executive leadership experience and a proven track record of superior sales performance in the service provider and carrier markets, Baily will help evolve and execute Foundry's service provider strategy and further expand Foundry's leadership position in this critical market.

Prior to joining Foundry, Baily was the vice president of worldwide sales for Quarry Technologies, a provider of carrier-class IP service edge switching solutions. Prior to his experience at Quarry, Baily worked at Marconi Communications/Fore Systems as the vice president of service provider sales responsible for driving worldwide sales to the service provider market including tier one IXCs, ILECs, RBOCs, CLECs, ISPs, MSOs and IP carriers. During this time, he won major service provider and carrier accounts including UUNET (UUNET Technologies, Inc., Fairfax, VA, www.uunet.net) Founded in 1987, UUNET was the first commercial Internet service provider. Originally offering e-mail and news, it became a full Internet service organization providing dial-up and leased line accounts as well as archive space for , Cable & Wireless, Sprint, GTE GTE General Telephone & Electronics
