Hello IMDHA, You may have heard about the Dateline NBC weight loss challenge that aired recently and how the man working with the Hypnotherapist is doing the best so far, forty five pounds lost (goal is 50) and an emotional cleansing that has lifted his spirits to the sky. I was blessed to be the one who Dateline chose to be a part of this 10-month study. I mention this because I receive hundreds of requests for referrals and have been directing people to the IMDHA. If you are receiving more inquiries from people looking for a working professional, this is why. There will be another segment in July and the final segment in October when the six people involved go to their high school reunion. All of us in the field will benefit from this as many colleagues have been increasing business already, after the country witnessed the tremendous benefits of hypnotherapy. Del Layton--Sydney, AU says: Thought you may be proud of this, as I am ... the first Medical Clinic in Australia to advertise Clinical Hypnotherapy on its website ... there are some updates to be made to the information, but at least it's a great start! LEGISLATION

It seems that watching our lawmakers is an important item for Hypnotherapists to follow. Dr. Beacham is asking all members to send to him any legislation concerning the practice of HYPNOSIS in his/her state. As the IMDHA Forensic Hypnosis Educator he is counting on the members to keep him posted as to current laws, bills pending and changes as they occur. Please take the time to connect with one of your state representatives or senators so that they are familiar with you as a Hypnotherapist/ Hypnotist. Be sure to donate time, yard space for signs and/or money to their campaign. Your legislator is much more likely to remember you if and when the subject of Hypnosis comes to his/her attention. COUNCIL OF PROFESSIONAL HYPNOSIS ORGANIZATIONS (COPHO)

IMDHA and Infinity Institute are members of this national organization. The next meeting of COPHO will be at the IMDHA Hypnosis and Holistic Health Conference on October 23, 2003. Presidents of hypnosis organizations from around the USA will be represented at this meeting. It is here that we find common ground and set recommended Standards of Practice, Ethics, Minimum Educational Requirements and more. If you are flying into Detroit Metro Airport, Romulus, MI: 2003 Conference Transportation choices:

#1--If you need transportation to and from the airport please contact Randy Annis at the hotel for pick-up times. New times are in effect. The hotel is providing this service Free to IMDHA attendees on a first come first serve basis. Reservations must be made before October 6, 2003. #2--Dr. Beacham has made arrangements with Ken's Airport Shuttle Service. Fees are: One-way for groups of one to four $78.00, Round trip $156.00; Groups of 4 or more add $5.00 for every person after the original four in each direction. Advance reservations receive a 10% discount when you identify yourself as attending the IMDHA conference at the Hilton Northfield, Troy, MI.
