Founder's message.

Greetings!

It is with great gratitude that I thank everyone who attended our 19th Annual Hypnosis and Holistic Living Conference--We were truly Connecting Consciousness.

It seems that this beautiful jewel that we live upon as space travelers is making some adjustments that are causing great upheaval in the lives of our members and their families. It is well known that out of every adversity there is an equal or greater opportunity for those who seek it.

In attendance at conference we had members from New Orleans who chose to find that greater opportunity and joined us to renew and refresh so that they might return home and help others regain their strength to rebuild and create a better life. We thank them for making the effort.

As you know many persons have moved on to other communities to build a new life and we also have many members who have volunteered to help with the stress involved in their own cities and countries. The stress and trauma of Katrina is one thing, however an abrupt change of address is quite another, especially with no money, no job and no home. We thank these members who are helping by putting on free seminars, free sessions, and helping where they can. We have all had a hurricane in our life and some may be re-building in the aftermath of a health challenge, a divorce, a bankruptcy, a death and so on.

I would like to invite you to remember that whatever you say you are thrice blessed; you think the thought, you speak the words and your ears hear. You have three impressions made at the cellular level of your body. The more emotion that is given to the utterance, the quicker the manifestation will be. The laws of the universe will always prevail.

If you have negative thoughts, please, for your sake, do not give them the energy to manifest by proclaiming; instead STOP that thought immediately and reframe it into what it is that you truly desire. Once you have the reframe in thought form --speak it--hear it and get excited about it so that every cell in your body sizzles with enthusiasm. You have just declared a new goal for yourself.

As persons practicing hypnotism we help clients do this on a daily basis. Now is an opportunity for you to do the same for yourself. You are invited to let go of one of your hurricanes.

Please utilize the following tool ... Close your eyes, roll them up and imagine that you have a black framed mirror on your left side and on your right side is a white framed mirror.

In the black framed mirror place that negative happening with all of its stress and terror and fear. It only takes a moment. Take a deep breath. Let it fade away out of sight like mist on the water and relax.

Now move your attention to the white framed mirror. It is brilliant with light. Look into it and imagine the outcome you desire. You have let go of the image in the other mirror.

Step into the white framed mirror. Feel what you feel, see what you see, hear what you hear, and know what you know. This is your new reality. When you are at the height of that experience, smile and squeeze your thumb and forefinger together. Relax and go deeper.

Do that again. This time put more sight, sound, taste, touch, emotion in to the experience of the white framed mirror. When you are at the height of it smile and squeeze the thumb and forefinger together. Yes! Anchor this positive outcome. It is yours.

Now repeat this exercise a third time and this time when you squeeze your thumb and forefinger together notice how every cell in your body sizzles with enthusiasm. Go ahead and get into the white framed mirror. See what you see, feel what you feel, hear what you hear, and know what you know. Smile and anchor that new you. Do that now and feel the cells sizzle with enthusiasm.

You have a new blueprint stamped in every cell of your body. It is now your job to encourage the continued flow of positive energy as the enfoldment happens in your life. Open your eyes and smile.

Like any good builder you have the blueprint, now it is time to hire the best contractors available and to keep a vigilant eye on the construction of the new thought pattern.

When the, "what if" the, "if only I had" or the, "I'm not so sure" come around, you must put those thoughts behind you. They are trying to get you to play in the past and fill yourself with fear. A master teacher once said: "Behind me Satan." I suggest you follow that advice.

The past is over. The future not yet here. We only have the Power of NOW.

Keep anchoring the positive so that when the storms of life appear you have a huge bank account of positive energy to draw upon. You will rise above the dark and step into the brightly lit white framed mirror of your life.

The Andrew Sisters sang a song in the 1940's, (not that I ever heard them). It went like this: Accentuate the Positive, Eliminate the Negative and don't mess with Mister In-between.

Please share each NOW moment and help those who come to you with new vigor and vitality.

Dr Anne and Board Members,

I wanted to write to express the pride and honor I felt receiving the award of Life Fellow in Hypnotherapy. I only wish I had the presence of mind at the banquet to articulate fully my feelings of appreciation. I am so very proud to be a part of our prestigious association and this important recognition becomes a benchmark in my career.

After taking the job to follow Chaplain Paul Durbin in New Orleans, I was in awe at the huge boots I was there to fill. There was no prouder moment in my career as the day my name was put on the door with his, as Director of Clinical Hypnotherapy for Methodist Hospitals' Health System Foundation. The variety of trainings received through IMDHA created the unique foundation that landed me that position, and continues to quench my thirst for knowledge of the most effective, innovative, hypnotherapeutic methods.

The times have swiftly and significantly changed since Katrina blew through, transforming our lives here. However, she was not so powerful as to blow out the flame of passion and commitment to serve others, and we shall surely use this unique opportunity of change to learn and grow. As we individually rise up, we collectively raise the consciousness of the universe, making us all better for having had this experience.

The theme for our conference this year was so appropriate, "Connecting Consciousness." I truly feel we are all one in spirit. The conference was so inspiring and therapeutic for me, personally. I so enjoyed embracing new arrivals and strengthening familiar ties, it felt like a family reunion with so many loving, sharing and friendly people. One could not leave without being motivated and uplifted, and once again, I left Troy with my batteries fully charged. I am proud to be a part of the IMDHA family and I look forward to the exciting future of Hypnotherapy, with an IMDHA member in every health care facility, worldwide.

Dear Dr. Anne, I really enjoyed attuning the 2005 IMDHA Conference and particularly the Specialty Certification Course: Hypnoanesthesia and Pain Management. Dr. Brucker was an excellent presenter...
