Foundation honors supporters.Two long-time supporters--Nancy White, PT, MS, OSC O.S.C. n. short for Order to Show Cause. (See: Order to Show Cause) , and Larry Lar´ry n. 1. Same as Lorry, or Lorrie. Pan, PT, PhD--were recognized for their contributions to the Foundation during the Foundation's Dinner Dance at PT 2008 in San Antonio San Antonio (săn ăntō`nēō, əntōn`), city (1990 pop. 935,933), seat of Bexar co., S central Tex., at the source of the San Antonio River; inc. 1837. last month. Nancy White received the Charles M Magistro Distinguished Service Award, the Foundation's highest award, for her service as a past Foundation president, Board Trustee, and Chair of the Foundation's first major gifts campaign: "Destination: Research Excellence." Working with a national committee of volunteers, White encouraged participation from all sectors of the profession, raising an estimated $4 million for physical therapy research. Larry Pan, Program Director of Physical Therapy at Marquette University Marquette University at Milwaukee, Wis.; Jesuit; coeducational; chartered 1864, opened 1881. The school achieved university status in 1907. Among its graduate programs are those in business, engineering, and law. , received the Spirit of Philanthropy philanthropy, the spirit of active goodwill toward others as demonstrated in efforts to promote their welfare. The term is often used interchangeably with charity. Award not only for his outstanding contribution to the Foundation and its mission, but also for his dedication to the physical therapy profession. For the past 20 years, Pan has served as the national adviser to the student-run Marquette Challenge. The Challenge has built awareness of the Foundation and the importance of physical therapy research while raising more than $1.3 million. |
