Foundation Telecommunications, Inc, (FTI FTI Free thyroxine index, see there ) announces the completion of a two-way digital video network located at the headquarters of the Jicarilla Apache Jicarilla Apache refers to an Apache people currently living in New Mexico and speak a Southern Athabaskan language. The installation included both the two-way digital video, audio and data 3.8 meter Vertex uplink together with a 3.3 meter DHSatellite C/Ku band steerable analog downlink capable of receiving signals from the entire domestic satellite arc. The turnkey installation and commissioning of the Vertex 3.8 meter high digital uplink was completed by FTI engineers within a four day period. Following rough alignment of the antenna, the FTI Telstar 5 transponder A receiver/transmitter on a communications satellite. It receives a microwave signal from earth (uplink), amplifies it and retransmits it back to earth at a different frequency (downlink). David Howe, Jicarilla Apache Department of Education (JADE) Applied Video Program Supervisor states, "These big dishes will be used to give the Jicarilla Apache Tribe and surrounding area the chance to take classes that they would normally have to drive 4 to 6 hours to take. The Jicarilla Apache Department of Education is quite pleased with the results".
