, of Valley City, North Dakota Valley City is a city in Barnes County, North Dakota in the United States. It is the county seat of Barnes CountyGR6. The population was 6,826 at the 2000 census. Valley City was founded in 1874. , is the author of A Business Guide for the Music Teacher. She has 28 years' experience as an independent music teacher and has been on the music faculty of Valley City State University for 11 years. Klingenstein, is a member of both the North Dakota MTA and the Valley City MTA. She served as the Southern Division's Independent Music Teachers Forum chair and on MTNA's National Advisory Committee for the Independent Music Teachers Forum. She has written numerous articles for American Music Teacher magazine, including the "It's All Your Business" column, and has given lectures and presentations at MTNA National Conferences.

Frances Larimer, NCTM, of Evanston, Illlinois, has been active in MTNA for many years. From 1975-1979, she served as national group piano chair for MTNA, and she now serves on the American Music Teacher Editorial Committee. She frequently gives presentations at national conferences and educational institutions throughout the country. Larimer, piano professor emerita, created the master's and doctoral degree programs in piano performance and pedagogy at Northwestern University and served as director of these programs for more than 25 years. Prior to this, she established the group piano programs for music and non-music majors and has taught undergraduate and graduate piano majors at Northwestern.

Iris Manus MANUS. Anciently signified the person taking an oath as a compurgator. The use of this word probably came from the party laying his hand on the New Testament. Manus signifies, among the civilians, power, and is frequently used as synonymous with potestas. Lec. El. Dr. Rom. Sec. 94. , of Van Nuys, California, is vice president and executive producer of Alfred Publishing Co., Inc. She began working at the company part-time while in high school; at that time, she met Morty Manus--sweeping hito off his feet--and the rest is history. Through the years, Iris continued to work part-time at Alfred in a variety of capacities, always providing leadership for the company in many areas. She began work on a full-time basis in the late 1960s as executive producer and a member of upper management. With her outstanding personality, Iris sets the tone for the personality for all of Alfred.

Morty Manus, of Van Nuys, California, is president of Alfred Publishing Co., Inc. A clarinetist and pianist, he received extensive musical training in his youth. , Morty joined Alfred and became president after his father and Alfred owner, Sam Manus, retired. Drawing upon his music experience, he oversaw the development of an instructional series for accordion, followed by books for guitar and piano. Morty is the author and editor of numerous titles in Alfred's catalog, including many books in Alfred's Basic Piano Library.

Ann Matteson, NCTM, of College Park, Maryland College Park is a city in Prince George's County, Maryland, USA. The population was 24,657 at the 2000 census. It is best known as the home of the University of Maryland, College Park, and since 1994 the city has also been home to the "Archives II" facility of the U.S. , is Maryland State MTA Certification vice president. She was on the MTNA National Certification Commission for four years and has been on the MSMTA MSMTA Maryland State Music Teachers Association

 Board of Directors since 1975, serving as president for four years. Since 1979, Matteson has championed a piano examination program to give private piano students high school credit. She was active on the Eastern Division Board for eight years and served many positions in two local associations. In 1999, Matteson was awarded an MSMTA Honorary Life Membership. She maintains a piano studio in College Park.

Richard Morris, of Cincinnati, Ohio, has held numerous positions with MTNA throughout his career, including national president from 1989 to 1991, as well as East Central Division president and national vice president of conventions. He also was president of the Ohio MTA and Missouri MTA. Morris earned B.M. and M.M. degrees from Indiana University. In 1960, he became piano department chair at the University of Missouri, and in 1976, Morris became the chair of the piano department at the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music. In 2004, he retired from the University of Cincinnati The University of Cincinnati is a coeducational public research university in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ranked as one of America’s top 25 public research universities and in the top 50 of all American research universities,[2] .

Judith Price, NCTM, of Olympia, Washington, has held many leadership positions with MTNA throughout her career, including Board of Directors member, MTNA Foundation Board of Trustees board of trustees Politics The posse of thugs who oversee an institution's administration. See Board of directors.  member, National Certification chair and Northwest Division president. Currently, she is the executive manager for the Washington State Music Teachers Association (WSMTA WSMTA Washington State Music Teachers Association ), Price has also been active through the years with WSMTA, serving in many capacities, including president, first vice president and District IV vice president. Price held several positions with the Olympia and Cowlitz Chapter affiliates of WSMTA. A graduate of Eastern Washington University Eastern Washington University - A university 20 miles southwest of Spokane, WA on the edge of the rolling Palouse Prairie.

Martha Stubbs, of Tallahassee, Florida, is the founder and president of Stubbs' Music Center. She received a bachelor of music degree from Wesleyan College and has been teaching music for 37 years. Stubbs is past president of the Florida State MTA and has held every office in local and district associations. Stubbs is now president of the FSMTA FSMTA Florida State Music Teachers Association  Foundation. She is active in the National Piano Guild and Music Federation. From 1990 to 2002, she was a member of the Technology in Music Symposium team for MTNA. She has been a contributing author for American Music Teacher and has given workshops across the country.

Linda Stump, NCTM, of Colorado Springs, Colorado The City of Colorado Springs is the second most populous city (after Denver) in the state of Colorado and the 48th most populous city in the United States.[4] The city is the county seat of El Paso County. , is MTNA director of competitions. Stump served as MTNA's Senior Competitions coordinator and was the Senior coordinator for the MTNA West Central Division Competitions for three years. Throughout her career, she has been active with the Pikes Peak MTA, serving in many capacities as an officer or chair, including president from 1976 to 1978. ) and served on the CSMTA Board. Stump earned a bachelor's degree from Wichita State University Wichita State University (WSU) is an American state-supported university located in the city of Wichita, Kansas. WSU is one of six state universities governed by the Kansas Board of Regents. The current President is Dr. Donald Beggs. , studying with Robert Steinbauer. After a brief time as a public school music teacher, she established an independent piano studio.

Irene Holtzinger Waters, NCTM, Nacogdoches, Texas, received an undergraduate music degree from Fort Hayes State University in Kansas and holds a master of music degree in piano and theory from the University of Michigan (body, education) University of Michigan - A large cosmopolitan university in the Midwest USA. Over 50000 students are enrolled at the University of Michigan's three campuses. The students come from 50 states and over 100 foreign countries. , where she accepted the first Teaching Fellowship in theory. After doctoral studies at Indiana University, she studied privately with Ruth Slenczynska. Waters then taught in public schools, before teaching at Northeastern State University NSU offers 69 undergraduate degrees, 18 graduate degrees, and 13 preprofessional programs in five colleges (Business & Technology, Liberal Arts, Education, Optometry, and Health & Science Professions). The student-to-faculty ratio is 26 to 1. . Waters has been an MTNA member since graduating from college and currently holds a Permanent Professional Certificate in piano and theory. She has served Texas MTA as a member of the board of directors, Texas certification chairman and theory grader.

Dolores Dolores (or Delores) was a common given name (until the 1960s in the USA); it is cognate with the English word "dolorous" (meaning sorrowful) and equivalent in meaning.  Zupan, NCTM, of St. Louis, Missouri, has a bachelor of music degree in piano and piano pedagogy from the St. Louis Institute of Music, where she also did graduate work in organ and church music and taught before opening an independent studio. Zupan has also served MTNA as president-elect, vice president for local associations and student chapters, vice chairman of IMTF and president of the West Central Division and Missouri State MTA. She is a charter member of the St. Louis area MTA.

2007 Grant Guidelines and Forms Available September 1, 2006

Guidelines and application forms for 2007 MTNA Foundation Fund grants will be available on the Foundation Fund website at www.mtnafoundation.org, beginning September 1, 2006. Teacher Enrichment Grants are provided to music teachers for private study, specific college-level course work or other projects that will enhance the performing and teaching skills of the applicant.

The MTNA Foundation Fund awards grants to MTNA-affiliated local associations for projects that provide educational opportunities for students and teachers. Grants also are given for projects that support the promotion of music in the immediate community. Matching grants are available for established associations. Start-up grants are available for associations in the process of being formed.

The purpose of the State Affiliate Matching Grants is to provide assistance to MTNA-affiliated state associations for professional and educational development of their state membership, along with the creation of innovative programs that will promote and enhance music and the development of music technology throughout the state, and to enhance and strengthen MTNA membership alliances in state associations.
