Foster Wheeler Is Awarded Contract To Supply Coker For MOL Refinery Modernization Program In Hungary.


CLINTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--February 4, 1998--Foster Wheeler Corporation announced that Foster Wheeler USA Corporation has been awarded a contract by MOL Mol (môl), commune (1991 pop. 30,763), Antwerp prov., N Belgium, near the Dutch border; founded in the 9th cent. It is a manufacturing city and the site of a Euratom nuclear research center.

 Hungarian Oil and Gas Company (MOL) for the design of a new coker and related services at MOL's Szazhalombatta refinery.

The project, part of a broad modernization program currently underway at MOL refinery facilities, will call on the combined services of Madrid-based Foster Wheeler Iberia S.A. and United States-based Foster Wheeler USA Corporation. Foster Wheeler is the world's leading supplier of coking technology.

Work on the new coker has begun, with the project scheduled for completion by 2000.

The scope of the project for Foster Wheeler includes basic design of the coker, which has a rated capacity of one million metric tons per year, the coker heater, certain detailed engineering services, training of personnel and start-up assistance. Foster Wheeler USA will provide the basic design package, with Foster Wheeler Iberia responsible for the heater and remaining engineering services.

Foster Wheeler will collaborate with the Hungarian engineering company Olajterv on the detailed engineering phase.
