Former tax commissioner named to REBNY board.


The Real Estate Board of New York New York, state, United States

 has named James DeCuzzi to its board of governors.

DeCuzzi serves as chief executive officer of the Sapir Organization, a position that he has held since 2003.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to represent the Sapir Organization on the governing body of the leading real estate industry organization in New York," said DeCuzzi. "I look forward to serving with distinguished colleagues in the industry and will make every effort to contribute to REBNY's important work."

The Sapir Organization is a privately-held, multi-national company with over 7 million s/f of commercial and residential real estate holdings in Manhattan. Principals Tamir Sapir and Alex Sapir serve as chairman and president, respectively.

DeCuzzi has had a distinguished career over the past two decades in both the public and private sectors. A member of the New York Bar, he served as president and commissioner of the New York City New York City: see New York, city.

In addition to serving on the REBNY REBNY Real Estate Board of New York  board of governors, DeCuzzi has received numerous civic awards, including the Nassau County Executive's Special Commendation, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor The Ellis Island Medal of Honor was established in 1986 to pay tribute to the immigrant experience and individual achievement, and are awarded to U.S. citizens from various ethnic backgrounds.  and the New York City Council's Outstanding Citizen Citation.
