Steven Toope, a former chair of the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund, has been appointed to the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances.

William C. "Bill" Graham, PC, QC (born March 17, 1939, in Montreal, Quebec) is a former Canadian politician.
 welcomed the appointment, saying it underscored Mr. Toope's expertise in the field of human rights.

Mr. Toope is a professor of law at McGill University McGill University, at Montreal, Que., Canada; coeducational; chartered 1821, opened 1829. It was named for James McGill, who left a bequest to establish it. Its real development dates from 1855 when John W. Dawson became principal.  in Montreal and a former dean.
