Former MTNA national winner to compete in Cliburn 2005.Stephen Beus, of Othello Washington, was Chosen to compete at the Twelfth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition The Van Cliburn International Piano Competition was first held in 1962 in Fort Worth, Texas. This was created by Fort Worth area teachers in honor of Van Cliburn, who had won the first International Tchaikovsky Competition four years prior with Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto. May 20 to June 5, 2005. Beus, one of thirty-five pianists selected worldwide, was the 2003 MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association MTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee) Collegiate Artist Piano Competition winner, receiving a Model M Steinway & Sons grand piano. He also was the 2000 MTNA High School Piano Competition winner. His other accolades include winning first place in the Junior Gina Bachauer Gina Bachauer, (Greek: Τζίνα Μπαχάουερ), (b. May 21, 1913) (d. August 22, 1976) born in Athens, Greece, was a Greek classical pianist and wife of Alec Sherman, who toured extensively in the United States and International Piano Competition, the Comus Christ International Young Artists Concerto concerto (kənchâr`tō), musical composition usually for an orchestra and a soloist or a group of soloists.
