The conference on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at The Hilton Charlotte City Center assembles experts in the areas of contingency planning, cyber security, intellectual property protection, physical security and protecting people. Szady will cover corporate espionage and threats, intellectual property protection and provide expert analysis and steps leaders can take to mitigate risk.

Others slated to speak at the Five Pillars of Executive Leadership in a Non-Secure World conference include international espionage expert and best-selling author H. Keith Melton; Gary Gardner, director of security of NASCAR NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing), organization that sanctions American stock-car races, est. 1948. It held its first race in Daytona Beach, Fla. ; Dr. Bill Chu, chairman of the Department of Software and Information Systems at UNC-Charlotte; N.C. Public Health Preparedness Director Dr. Julie Casani; Mecklenburg County Health Director Dr. Wynn Mabry; Special Agent in Charge Russell Nelson, of the Secret Service; and Nate Gray, special agent in charge-FBI Charlotte, will give opening remarks.
