Former DBBM president joins CBRE Capital group.


CB Richard Ellis CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. NYSE: CBG is a multinational real estate corporation currently based in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.. On December 20, 2006, the corporation, also known as CBRE, completed acquisition of Trammell Crow Co. in a transaction valued at $2.  announced that Ron Halpern, a 30-year veteran of the financial services and multi-housing industries, has joined the company's Capital Markets service line as managing director of the Multi-Housing Group.

Halpern was previously the president and COO of Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage (DBBM). The announcement comes on the heels of CBRE's recent hiring of former DBBM chief executive officer Peter Donovan as senior managing director of the Multi-Housing Group.

"Ron's wealth of experience and level of expertise make him an excellent addition to our management team in the Multi-Housing arena," said Brian Stoffers, president of CBRE's Capital Markets service line.

"He will be working closely with Peter Donovan, and represents another significant upgrade to our national capital markets capabilities."

As president and COO of DBBM, Halpern was responsible for the overall management of the company's production offices, trading desk Trading Desk

A desk where transactions for buying and selling securities occur. Trading desks can be found in most organizations (banks, finance companies, etc.) involved in trading investment instruments such as equities, fixed-income securities, futures, commodities and foreign
 and underwriting department.

He also worked to develop several strategic initiatives that helped create a national production platform with a multi-billion dollar capability.

Prior to joining DBBM, Mr. Halpern held senior management positions with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD Hud (hd), a pre-Qur'anic prophet of Islam. Halpern is a prior member of the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Advisory Councils. He is also a past chairman of the Multifamily Housing Committee of the Mortgage Bankers Association.

He has a Bachelor of Arts from the City University of New York The City University of New York (CUNY; acronym: IPA pronunciation: [kjuni]), is the public university system of New York City.  and a Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School History
