Former Comcast Executive Rian Wren Joins AccessLine Communications' Board of Directors.


BELLEVUE, Wash. -- AccessLine Communications Corporation, a leader in hosted communications and voice services, today announced that Rian J. Wren, formerly senior vice president and general manager of voice services for Comcast Communications and the former president of Comcast Business Communications, has joined the company's board of directors. Wren is a telecommunications industry veteran most recently known for overseeing the planning, development and launch of Comcast's VoIP phone See IP phone and softphone.  service.

Wren had a distinguished career at Comcast, the nation's largest facilities-based provider of cable telephone service. After joining the company in 1999, he served as president of Comcast Business Communications before being named CEO of Broadnet, Comcast's international wireless telecommunications company See telecom company.  headquartered in Belgium. He returned to Comcast in 2002 to head up Comcast Digital Phone before being named senior vice president and general manager of voice services, a position he resigned in July 2005.

Prior to joining Comcast, Wren worked at AT&T for more than 20 years in the areas of business and consumer communications services, network services and network systems manufacturing, most recently serving as the company's southwest regional president. He was an AT&T Sloane Fellow while earning his MS degree from Stanford University Stanford University, at Stanford, Calif.; coeducational; chartered 1885, opened 1891 as Leland Stanford Junior Univ.
