The Cleveland Browns are a professional American football team based in Cleveland, Ohio.
 secondary in the late 1980s, captained a five-man team that won the 2003 Central Ohio Chapter NFL Alumni Charity Golf Classic, held Monday, June 23, at Double Eagle Golf Club in Galena, Ohio. Wright teamed with fellow golfers Dennis Bassett, Jim Dunlap, Jeff Kolda and Mike Prescott to beat out a field of 27 other fivesomes captained by NFL Alumni who included Dick Anderson, Archie Griffin, Tom Matte, Earl Morrall and Cliff Stoudt.

The Central Ohio Chapter tournament was one of 25 tournaments to be held nationwide as part of the 2003 NFL Alumni Charity Golf Tour. Each stop on the tour features an 18-hole scramble event with five-man teams captained by NFL Alumni members. Net proceeds Net Proceeds

By winning the Central Ohio Chapter tournament, Wright and his team won an all-expense paid trip to the NFL Alumni's Super Bowl of Golf (SBOG) XXIV, to be held in spring 2004 at the Orange County National Golf Center in Winter Garden, Fla. Wright's team will compete at SBOG XXIV for the mythic national championship against winning teams from each stop on the 2003 NFL Alumni Charity Golf Tour.

Prior to joining the Browns in 1985, Wright played three seasons in the Canadian Football League Canadian Football League (CFL)

Wright continued his ball hawking with the Browns, leading the team in interceptions from 1987 to 1990. In 1989, he led the league with nine picks. Wright played the 1991 and 1992 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings before retiring with 29 career interceptions in the NFL and 15 in the CFL CFL Canadian Football League .
