Forest2Market, Inc. Develops First Ever Forecast Model to Predict Timber Prices.

) has unveiled a timber price forecast service that predicts local timber prices 18 months in advance. The service is the first of its kind in the industry and is available in all of F2M's southeastern markets.

F2M worked with Straight Arrow executives Tom Montzka, a long-time senior executive in the forest products industry, and Mike Hubschamm, a former university professor with a doctorate in economics. Straight Arrow's knowledge of statistical relationships and timber forecast models, coupled with F2M's timber pricing data, helped create this groundbreaking forecast product for the timber industry. The forecast model predicts timber prices in each of F2M's markets in 10 southeastern states.

Building on the success in its local markets, F2M plans to extend its reach to the Midwest and will begin calculating this data for markets in Michigan Michigan (mĭsh`ĭgən), upper midwestern state of the United States. It consists of two peninsulas thrusting into the Great Lakes and has borders with Ohio and Indiana (S), Wisconsin (W), and the Canadian province of Ontario (N,E). , Minnesota and Wisconsin.
