Foreign Minister Poposki on visit to Estonia.

Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki paid an official visit to the Republic of Estonia on 8-9 February and met his Estonian counterpart Urmas Paet. The cooperation between Estonia and Macedonia was assessed at the meeting as excellent and the need for its further promotion was underlined. Opinions with regard to the approaching NATO Summit in Chicago were also shared. In addition, satisfaction was expressed with the appointment of Peter Ruze as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Macedonia to Estonia.

Minister Poposki had meetings also with Estonian Defense Minister Mart Laar, as well as with Members of the Estonian Parliament, who reconfirmed their strong support for Macedonia's bid for EU and NATO membership. Minister Poposki met also the newly appointed ambassador of the EU to the Republic of Macedonia, Aivo Orav, and, in association with the Foreign Policy Institute, delivered a lecture on the subject "Macedonia's Path to the EU and NATO: Knocking on an Open Door."
