Forecasters Predict Spectacular Fall Color; Dollywood's Harvest Celebration Adds to Beauty.

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 2003

Environmental and nature specialists are predicting what could be one of the most visually stunning displays of fall foliage this year.

"We have every reason to believe that fall is going to be beautiful this year. We've had plenty of widespread rain, and that's usually an indicator of a good fall color display," said Michelle Prysby, Citizen Science Director at the Great Smoky Mountains Great Smoky Mountains, part of the Appalachian system, on the N.C.–Tenn. border; highest range E of the Mississippi and one of the oldest uplands on earth. At Dollywood entertainment park, fall is in full swing with the park's Harvest Celebration and Southern Gospel Jubilee. A rainbow of colorful fall flora as well as pumpkins and corn are just part of the lavish decor that adorns the park throughout the five-week festival which ends Nov. 1.

"There's no better place to enjoy fall's beautiful patchwork of color not of the white race; - commonly meaning, esp. in the United States, of negro blood, pure or mixed.
