The forecast is up only 1.1 percent in walk-behind powered mower shipments for MY 2005 (September 2005-August 2005). Shipments of consumer riding mowers are expected to dip by 0.2 percent, and tillers are expected to increase by 1.9 percent. OPEI says these predictions reflect obstacles to national economic growth, such as the high cost of oil, federal pressure on interest rates and expected slowdown in new and existing home markets. OPEl predicts positive shipments growth for consumer products for MY 2006, with an increase of 3.0 percent in walk-behind shipments and an increase of 2.2 percent in consumer riders. |
