Ford to replace cast suspension control arms.

Fords original control arm supplier cast the components using semi-solid casting methods, the first time Ford had its control arms produced in this process. However, cracks appeared in an arm during a GT test inspection.

The casting supplier is machining the forged parts into the finished control arms, and Ford officials said they still will consider the semi-solid casting process for future components.
