Force Protection, Inc. Appoints New Director.

LADSON, S.C. -- Force Protection, Inc. (OTCBB:FRPT) today announced it has appointed U.S. Army Lieutenant General Roger G. Thompson, Jr., Retired, to the company's Board of Directors. The appointment marks a majority of independent shareholders on the Board, which is a prerequisite for Force Protection common stock to be listed on the NASDAQ Capital Market. Thompson's appointment was effective December 26, 2006.

A veteran with more than three decades experience on active duty, Thompson currently provides executive leadership to the 128 local chapters of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) throughout the world. Thompson commanded at all levels throughout the Army, including field artillery, transportation, logistics, and infantry units. He served three separate assignments on the Department of Army Staff, his last tour as Director of the Army Budget. Thompson completed his military career as the Deputy Commander in Chief, United States Transportation Command. In this position he was responsible for the daily operations supporting all military and commercial transportation for the entire Department of Defense.

Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the United States Military Academy, a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Syracuse University, and a Masters Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He attended the Army's Command and General Staff College and the Naval War College.
