). Ad pages for June 2003 were up 0.9% compared to June 2002, while ad dollars increased 4.9%. Year to date, spending was up 1.2% and pages were down 3.6%. Eight of the 12 categories showed an ad spending increase in June compared to last year, including Automotive (+34.2%), Services/Direct Response (+22.6), Retail (+22.3) and Horticulture/Farming (+15.3). The Travel (-26.6%), Computers (-14.9), Software (-7.0) and Telecom (0.3) categories showed spending declines. Half of the categories showed an ad page increase, led by Horticulture/Farming (+87.9%), and half showed an ad page decline.
